I firmly believe that the culture of the gym is what is going to be the determining factor in the success of this gym. Yes, I do believe that our workouts are the best, but the reality is you can get a good workout anywhere. What sets Carbon apart is our dedication to the people that step in the door. Below I share our North Star aka what guides us every day as well as the pillars that we are looking to build our culture upon.
North Star: Carbon Strength & Conditioning exists to use weight training and conditioning as a tool to lead people toward health and wholeness beyond the gym. We genuinely care about and personally invest in each individual person who steps through our doors.
Words make worlds
Two Pillars: Everybody Love Everybody & Don’t Be an Idiot. These guide the way we interact with people and the way we make decisions.
- We care for everyone who steps in the door.
- We are excited to see each other. Working out is more fun with friends.
- We believe you can go harder than you think you can. And you don’t always need to go as hard as you think you should.
- We believe the best motivation is born out of confidence and positivity based on where we are today. Motivation for the long run is not bred by fear or insecurity.
- We celebrate a body that can move in any capacity.
- We aren’t guided by our egos, we move with purpose, tempo, and full range of motion. We value these over how much weight we lift. We focus on progress over perfection.
- We are in this for the long run, long term consistency wins over short term intensity.
- We listen to how we feel each day. If our bodies don’t feel great we take it easy and focus on getting some good movement.
- We communicate when something is hurting and find creative ways to move without pain.
- We focus on the mental and physical benefits of exercise over the physique benefits.
- We take health our seriously, we don’t take ourselves seriously.
